Class Descriptions

For all classes, please wear comfortable clothing such as yoga pants and a tank top. Shoes are optional. Sessions are ongoing ulness otherwise specified.

Bellydance Basics - In this one hour class we focus on proper body alignment and posture, identifying simple Middle Eastern rhythms, increasing overall strength and flexibility, understanding isolations, and developing movement awareness. Students learn the basic traditional bellydance movements as well as belly dance terminology

Bellydance Choreography - This one hour class builds on the basic movements taught in Belly dance Basics. Dance combinations are explored utilizing group formations along with basic Zill Rhythms. Floor work and props are also covered. Students must bring knee pads, finger cymbals, and a veil. 8 weeks in Bellydance Basics required.

Bellydance Bootcamp - Looking for a fun way to get in shape? Tone and beautify your body with a fun and uplifting activity. Specifically created for the female body, each bellydance movement sculpts the body in a natural way. You don't have to go to the gym to achieve great cardio, have toned abs, firm glutes and defined arms and legs. Exercise the way the female body was intended!

Iyengar Style Yoga - Iyengar yoga focuses particularly on three aspects. Correct body alignment allows the body to develop harmoniously in an anatomically correct way so that the student suffers no injury or pain when practicing correctly. As all bodies are different and people have different weaknesses and strengths. Mr Iyengar has also developed the use of props to help the body into the correct positions required. Props are objects like wooden blocks, chairs, blankets and belts that help one adjust or support oneself in the different postures so that one can work in a range of motion that is safe and effective.

Hatha Yoga - (also listed as Good Morning Yoga) The most popular form of yoga, Hatha Yoga can be interpreted as physical yoga. Many teachers use this term to describe their style and sometimes it's used in lieu of eclectic or multi-style yoga. Delphi's Hatha Yoga classes focus on Asana's (poses) to increase flexibility as well as Pilates exercises to increase strength. Great for beginners!

Qi Yoga - A perfect and balanced blend of Meditative Yoga and Tai Chi/Qigong - guaranteed to refresh your body and soul.

Mat Pilates - The classic. Breathing, core strength, and cool music. This series of matwork will re-shape and re-energize your body, especially those abs, legs, and arms.

Raks Dansa - Our signature World Dance Fitness class uses a blend of African, Caribbean , and Latin movements to create a unique high-intensity workout that will leave you wanting more!

Dance Exotica - Learn how to dance like the pro's while tapping into your sensuality, sexuality, and femininity. This is a great way to build confidence and overall self image! Learn how to walk, strip tease, shadow dance, sexy body rolling, and find your won sexy image through clothes, style, and inner confidence.

T'ai Chi / Qigong (Chee Gon) — T'ai Chi is a link of unchanging movements, called “forms”, that have passed through centuries of tradition, without equipment. This class will address breathing patterns, stability (strength) and mobility (flexibility) through moving, balanced meditation. You will learn how to feel more invigorated, more energized, and more balanced from this natural choreographic flow of wellness

Hooping - Hula hooping has evolved into an exciting dance form that combines a great cardio workout with the benefits of core training, flexibility, & coordination! You'll have so much fun in this class, you won't realize you're working out!

Cardio Cheer - Gimme a C! This class is perfect for former cheerleaders as well as those of you who hated them. Get your revenge in this high-impact and high-energy workout that incorporates cheer moves as well as intensive strength exercises. Great for the abs, glutes, and especially the arms!

Studio Jam - Part hip hop, part jazz, and part aerobics, this workout will have you smiling while you're sweating. Class consists of a complete warm-up with strength work followed by floor work and simple choreography.

Jump Rope - We took out the nursery rhymes, but left all the fun! This class will help you gain stamina while burning calories and toning legs and arms.
